Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Maduro
Up for review is the Indian Tabac Super Fuerte. I've had this in the humidor for over a year, and figured it was time to fire it up. As always, I'm pairing this cigar with water. I had a hard time finding the exact blend, so I listed what I found below. On to the review!
Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Maduro
Blend: Tobaccos from Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras
Size: Petit Belicoso 5.5 X 52
Price: Around $3.00 a stick
Pre-smoke & Construction:
Squeezing the cigar showed no soft spots. In fact, this thing was rock hard. The dark oily wrapper looked nice, and smelled like quality tobacco. The draw was pretty tight. To be honest, I was debating on even lighting up because of the draw. After massaging it a little, and using a draw poker, I felt is was acceptable enough to smoke.
Flavor:
In the medium to upper medium range, the first third opened up with a very simple earthy flavor. The smoke was smooth and easy to pass through the sinus.
As I got in to the second third, I became less distracted by the tight draw and started to notice more flavor. Notes of mocha and spice meshed nicely with the earthy undertones. The aftertaste was somewhat sweet. The smoke started to smooth out as I progressed through this third.
The last third went in to the full body range. The mocha faded a bit, and the sweetness increased a little. Pleasant spicy notes were very noticeable when passing through the sinus. Unfortunately, the tight draw started to distract me again, and I lost focus on the flavors. It was then that I decided to put this stick down.
Conclusion:
The draw problem really took away from the good flavors of this cigar. I definitely will revisit this cigar in hopes this issue was just a fluke. If medium to full body cigars appeal to you, I'd tell you to give this cigar a try. I know I'm going to try it again.
